Sharjah's upcoming sports city will feature innovative stadiums and complexes, constructed with the aid of heavy machinery.
Sharjah has officially approved the designs and location for a new sports city in the emirate. The ambitious project, which will cater to both team and individual sports, is set to include four major sports complexes, according to WAM. The city will be built on a site personally selected by the emirate’s ruler, H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
A notable aspect of this project is that the ruler himself has sketched the designs for the sports city. The layout includes a central square that is intersected by four main roads, which will provide easy access to the sports facilities. These roads lead from key areas such as Al Madam, Al Badayer, Mahafiz, and Al Bataeh, as well as from Sharjah Sports City, allowing for seamless connectivity to the new venue.
The Stadium Design
One of the main highlights of the new sports city is the uniquely designed stadium, inspired by the image of a bird soaring over sand dunes. The design consists of two main elements: the platform and grandstand, which are shaped to mimic the undulating sand dunes of the surrounding desert, and a large covering structure that resembles a bird with its wings spread wide. This symbolic design captures the natural beauty of Sharjah's landscape while also representing the freedom and energy of sports.
Heavy Machinery Involved in the Construction
Constructing such a large and intricate sports city requires an extensive range of heavy machinery to complete the project efficiently and safely. First and foremost, excavators for sale will be essential for site preparation, clearing and digging the foundation for the complexes and roads. Buying Bulldozers is essential as it will be used to grade and level the terrain, ensuring a smooth and stable surface for construction.
Additionally, tower cranes will play a crucial role in lifting and assembling large structural components, such as the bird-shaped covering over the stadium. These cranes will be necessary for handling materials that need to be positioned at significant heights. Concrete mixer pumps will be needed to pour the concrete foundations for the stadium and sports complexes, ensuring a strong base for these large structures.
For the roads connecting the sports city, asphalt pavers and road rollers will be deployed to lay down smooth, durable roadways, facilitating easy access to and from the city. In the final stages, loaders and forklifts will be used for handling materials and equipment during finishing work.
This combination of heavy machinery is key to bringing the ruler’s vision for Sharjah’s new sports city to life, ensuring that it is built efficiently and to the highest standards.
